<metadataxml><cemetery /><transcription>David Disman Brooks, chairman of Duncan Galvanizing Corp. of Everett and founder of New England Retinning Co. of Everett, died of cancer Thursday at his home in Brookline. He was 82.
Mr. Brooks founded New England Retinning in 1929 and served as president for many years. It is now called the Tinning Co. He had also served as president of the former Weatherguard Window Corp. of Boston. Born in Newburyport and a 1926 graduate of Dorchester High School, Mr. Brooks was a former treasurer and vice president of the Brotherhood of Temple Ohabei Shalom of Brookline and a founding member of Spring Valley Country Club of Canton. He leaves his wife, Sylvia (Waldman); his former wife, Jeanette (Cherney); two sons, Barry C. and Richard L., both of Wellesley; a daughter, Jodi Santisi of Brookline; two brothers, Dr. Oscar of Centerville and George Traister of Brookline; and five grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Temple Ohabei Shalom. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park.</transcription></metadataxml> |
