Stella Armband passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 after a brief illness. Stella was born March 29, 1913 in Brooklyn, New York. Stella was preceded in death by her husband Leon, her son Freddie and her daughter Karen Griffith. She is survived by granddaughters Faith (Robert) Smith, Cindy (Michael) Ghormley, and Shari Rand. She also leaves 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion Benjamin Lindenbaum, son-in-law Bob Griffith, and her sister Rozlyn Cafetz. Stella came to Arizona in 1972 with her husband Leon and lived in Paradise Valley for the past 38 years. She was well known as an incredible joke teller and knew all the old songs, and she often held court at Paradise Valley Mall on Saturdays. She will be missed but never forgotten by all who ever had the pleasure of meeting her. A visitation will be held at 2:00 on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Green Acres Mortuary located at 401 North Hayden Road, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 pm.</transcription></metadataxml>
